The Information We Collect

Tynrhyd Retreat operates within the guidelines set out by the UK Data Protection Act (1998) and the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation enforced from 25th May 2018. We collect information from you necessary to process your booking or payment. We use cookies only where required, they do not hold personal information and they expire as appropriate.

Tynrhyd Retreat respects the privacy of its clients and prospective clients. No client information will be disclosed to third parties.

Some houses may require a guestlist ahead of the stay. This will only consist of first name and age and is used to validate the type of enquiry (family group etc) and configure bedroom layouts.

What we collect

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.

  • demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests

  • other information relevant to customer surveys and/or offers

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

We will retain contact information for a period of 6 years, this is so we can ensure a great service from understanding any previous enquiry/bookings.

HMRC states that we must keep financial records for 6 years from the end of the last company financial year they relate to, or longer if: they show a transaction that covers more than one of the company’s accounting periods, the company has bought something that it expects to last more than 6 years, like equipment or machinery. Tynrhyd Retreat comply with this legal requirement.

We operate an email mailing list program, used to inform subscribers about products, services, competitions and/or news we supply/publish. Subscribers can unsubscribe at any time through an automated online service, other means as detailed in the footer of sent marketing messages or contact us by email on holidays@tynrhyd.com , to request the removal of your details.

Email marketing messages may contain tracking beacons / tracked clickable links or similar server technologies in order to track subscriber activity within email marketing messages. Where used, such marketing messages may record a range of subscriber data relating to engagement, geographic, demographics and already stored subscriber data.

We adopt a Social Media Policy to ensure our business and our staff conduct themselves accordingly online. While we may have official profiles on social media platforms users are advised to verify authenticity of such profiles before engaging with or sharing information with such profiles.
