Tynrhyd Retreat

Tynrhyd Retreat is a stylish and contemporary barn complex which is set in the scenic village of Devil’s Bridge, and only 10 miles from the seaside town of Aberystwyth. This retreat has unrivalled spacious rooms and wonderful views of the Cambrian countryside. It’s a magical property where it is possible to celebrate a range of occasions. These occasions range from special occasions, holidays, relaxing escapes, corporate events and weddings. On the doorstep, you will be able to find waterfalls, inspirational walks, mountain biking centres and numerous other attractions.

Tynrhyd was formally a working farm which belonged to the historic Hafod Estate. It is nestled amongst 13 acres of private grounds which provide the ‘away-from-it-all’ peacefulness that you may dream of but still being easily accessible at the same time.

The village pub/restaurant, café, famous waterfall and Vale of Rheidol narrow gauge railway station are all within a short walking distance. The Devil’s Bridge area offers some spectacular landscapes and scenery, as featured on Hinterland / Y Gwyll; a ground-breaking, dual-language detective drama set against the stunning backdrop of west Wales.

Recommended restaurants nearby include the Hafod Hotel (short walk down the road), Farmers Arms, Llanfihangel y Creuddyn (6 miles), Ty’n Llidiart, Capel Bangor (7 miles) and the Talbot, Tregaron (16 miles).

The bustling seaside town of Aberystwyth offers a wide range of amenities, including restaurants, cafes, pubs and supermarkets. It is also the home of Aberystwyth University, the National Library of Wales and a stunning promenade along the seafront. There are some alternative transport options from Tynrhyd to Aberystwyth if you prefer not to drive, including plenty of local taxi companies and a steam train at certain times of the year.
